Winter ActivitiesWhen the fall colours fade and the cool blanket of winter blows in, Renfrew County turns into snow country. Ontario snowmobiling started here and a quarter century of trail building and plenty of soft, powdery snow tansforms the Valley into a family fun paradise.
Cross-Country Skiing
---
Winter sport enthusiasts must experience the groomed and scenic cross-country ski trails winding through our meadows and forests.

Curling
---
| Find a sheet of ice in the valley and throw a rock or two
|

Downhill Skiing
---
Our tree-lined slopes, challenging vertical drops (including the highest in Eastern Ontario) and gentle runs make the Ottawa Valley a great alpine skiing destination. Most hills offer state-of-the-art snowmaking and grooming equipment, which means plenty of good skiing conditions from mid-November through March. Best of all, you won't have to drive more than 45 minutes from any point in Renfrew County to get a good hill.

Skating
---
What could be more exilerating than taking the family out into the cool, crisp air, slapping on a pair of skates and gliding the day away on one of our well-maintained municipal rinks. Our skating season is generally from mid-November through to March (weather inclement).

Snowmobiling
---
Winter in the Ottawa Valley means lots of snow and crisp temperatures - perfect snowmobiling weather for sledding enthusiasts. We offer snowmobile enthusiasts over 2,550km/1,580 mi of groomed Trans Ontario Provincial (TOP) trails and local trails that wind through picturesque villages, along abandoned rail beds, past old mine sites and ghost towns.
