(Pembroke, ON) – The Ottawa Valley Tourist Association (OVTA) is pleased to announce its Board of Directors for 2010 – 2011.

The Board of Directors, which is comprised of membership representatives from various sectors of the local tourism industry, was elected at the Annual General Meeting held on April 21st at Sands on Golden Lake in Deacon.

• John Berkhout - Honourary Member
• Dennis Blaedow - Esprit Rafting - Davison, QC
• Allan Symons - Canadian Clock Museum, Deep River, ON
• Sharon Taylor - Barry's Bay Outfitters, Barry's Bay, ON
• Chris Hinsperger - Bonnechere Caves, Eganville, ON
• Norman Anderson - Renfrew Industrial Commission, Renfrew, ON
• County Representative (appointed by County Council): Reeve Peter Emon
• County Representative (appointed by County Council): Mayor Mary Campbell
• City of Pembroke (appointed by City Council): Councillor Bob Hackett, City of Pembroke

The President and Vice President were elected at the OVTA’s Board of Directors meeting held immediately following the AGM.

"It's an honour to be re-elected for another term as President of the OVTA," said President Charlotte Gebhart. "The Ottawa Valley is blessed with a wide variety of tourism attractions. I look forward to working with the OVTA Board and staff over the course of the year promoting our wonderful area to visitors."

The OVTA is the official destination marketing organization for the Upper Ottawa Valley and proudly represents more than 230 tourism businesses, comprised of attractions and events, accommodation, dining and retail establishments, rafting companies and outfitters, artists and galleries, as well as media and industry suppliers.
