OVTA Announces 2011-2012 Board of Directors

(Pembroke, ON) – The Ottawa Valley Tourist Association (OVTA) is pleased to announce its Board of Directors for 2011 – 2012.

The Board of Directors, which is comprised of membership representatives from various sectors of the local tourism industry, was elected at the Annual General Meeting held on April 28th at Twin Rivers Golf Course in Petawawa.

 
·        President – Chris Hinsperger – Bonnechere Caves, Eganville, ON
·        Vice President - Dave Lemkay - Renfrew Industrial Commission, Renfrew, ON
·        Charlotte Gebhart – Serendipity on the River, Eganville, ON
·        Dennis Blaedow - Esprit Rafting - Davidson, QC
·        Allan Symons - Canadian Clock Museum, Deep River, ON
·        Sharon Taylor - Barry's Bay Outfitters, Barry's Bay, ON
·        Isabel O’Reilly – Township of Killaloe-Hagarty-Richards, ON
·        Marilyn Alexander – Pembroke Comfort Inn, Pembroke, ON
·        City of Pembroke Representative (appointed by City Council) - Councilor Bob Hackett
·        County Representative (appointed by County Council) - Mayor Mary Campbell
·        County Representative (appointed by County Council) Reeve Audrey Green
 
The President and Vice President were elected at the OVTA’s Board of Directors meeting held during the 2011 AGM.
 
“The Ottawa Valley’s tourism industry is on the cusp of a number of exciting opportunities that will benefit  those businesses and organizations directly related to tourism, as well as all Valley businesses,” explains OVTA President Chris Hinsperger. “I am proud to be part of a group of people dedicated to realizing those opportunities.”
 
The OVTA is the official destination marketing organization for the Upper Ottawa Valley and proudly represents more than 210 tourism businesses, comprised of attractions and events, accommodation, dining and retail establishments, rafting companies and outfitters, artists and galleries, as well as media and industry suppliers.
