It's Tourism Week... Celebrate by Exploring the Ottawa Valley!Media Release For Immediate Release
May 29, 2009 (Pembroke, ON) - The Ottawa Valley Tourist Association (OVTA) is celebrating Tourism Week (June 1-7, 2009) and residents and visitors are invited to explore and experience all that the Ottawa Valley has to offer. The Ottawa Valley – also known as Ontario’s Adventure Playground and Whitewater Capital of Canada – has something for everyone, from whitewater rafting to flatwater canoeing, from dining and shopping to camping and golfing to visiting a museum, the Ottawa Valley has something for everyone! Last week, the OVTA, in collaboration with ‘A’ TV and its tourism partners, followed local resident mascot Mr. Black(fly) as he travelled the Valley experiencing numerous tourism activities. In celebration of Tourism Week, Mr. Black’s Ottawa Valley Adventures will be aired each morning, from June 1-6, during ‘A’ Morning TV (Monday-Friday: 6-10am, Saturday: 7-9am). Viewers are sure to be entertained as they watch Mr. Black go whitewater rafting down the Ottawa River, ATV touring, zip-lining, fossil hunting, golfing, visiting a museum and even driving a race car – all the things that a tourist can do when visiting the Ottawa Valley! Additionally, viewers of ‘A’ Morning have the opportunity to win Ottawa Valley getaways each day, including whitewater rafting trips on the Ottawa River courtesy of Wilderness Tours and OWL Rafting, a weekend pass to the Palmer Rapids Twin Music Festival and Pontiac Rodeo with accommodations at the Les Cabines de la Chute, a guided ATV tour with accommodations at Serendipity on the River, and a weekend getaway courtesy of the Swiss Inn, as well as a week of residential camp at Frontier Trails Camp. “I invite everyone to come to the Ottawa Valley and celebrate tourism with us this week and all year long,” buzzes Mr. Black. “We are a four-season destination that has something for everyone!” The OVTA would like to thank its many partners for helping to promote Tourism Week in the Ottawa Valley, including ‘A’ TV, the Champlain Trail Museum, RiverRun Rafting, Jocko’s Beach Resort, Calabogie Highlands Golf, Calabogie Motorsports, Top of the Mountain ATV Tours, the Bonnechere Caves, Frisco’s Restaurant, Chutes Coulonge Park and Les Cabines de la Chute.
