Based on experiences in other communities, VALLEYLICIOUS has been created to promote restaurants and dining experiences throughout the Ottawa Valley as an added bonus to our winter tourism season. Scheduled to run from February 3 to April 1, 2012, the event will feature an opportunity for diners to experience fare at Valley restaurants as they offer fixed-price dinner menus. Participating restaurants are encouraged to showcase unique experiences, with new and exciting food and ingredients as much as possible, whilst staying within a certain price category for a three-course meal.
 

Dinners will be offered at a number of locales with price points at $20 or $25. Other menu items will still be available during this period. Some dates and restrictions may apply and it is recommended that diners call ahead to make reservations, indicating that they would like to experience VALLEYLICIOUS.
 

As an added bonus to diners, diners that visit 3 or more establishments are encouraged to use and submit their “Dining Out Card” for a chance to win a Dine Around Bundle value at $250! Cards and details are available at any participating establishment.
 

Criteria for this program was developed after consultation with other communities, as well as with the Ontario Culinary Tourism Alliance. The County of Renfrew, working with the Ottawa Valley Economic Development Partners Group, are looking towards the future of Culinary Tourism in this area and are hoping that VALLEYLICIOUS plays a complementary role in many of the great culinary offerings and events that happen in Valley communities throughout the year.
