Printmaking Workshop - Nature and Symbolism


August 13th 2011

Instructor: Robert Hinchley 
Date: Saturday Aug 13, 10 - 4pm   Cost: $70 + $20 (materials) + $11.70 (HST) = $101.70 

Description:
In this workshop participants will explore techniques in Linocut, Stencil printmaking, and
monoprinting. Nature and symbolism will be the theme, as unique approaches  to imagery will be discovered. Learn about design, carving methods, hand-printing techniques, and papers to print on. Come make an impression and enjoy a day of printmaking. Non toxic  “Safe Wash” Ink will be used.

OACD graduate, Robert Hinchley is a painter and printmaker. His recent work have been connected to the natural environment and cultural history. Hinchley's work is in numerous private and public collections (recently the City of Ottawa collection).  Recent awards include The “Instructor of Year” award at the Ottawa School of Art and“Jurors Award”at the 2009 International Printmaking Exhibition at the Shenkman Art Centre.

Ages 14 and up, or accompanied by an adult.
