The demand for sustainable trail systems in municipalities has never been greater. With a thrust towards increasing the activity levels amongst residents through affordable recreational opportunities combined with enevironmnetal stewardship pressures to increase opportunities for non-motorized transportation within your municipality, understanding the concepts behind sustainable trail network development has become a priority in many cities and towns. This Ontario Parks Association course is designed to give municipal parks managers, supervisors, architects, planners and volunteers a detailed look into the design, tools, terminology and engineering principals required to construct sustainable trail systems in your municipality.
