Mark your Calendars! The Ottawa Valley Tourist Association (OVTA) will be hosting it's Annual Tourism Conference and Annual General Meeting Thursday April 28 at Twin Rivers Golf Course in Petawawa. Just in time to get everyone excited for the busy summer tourism season! What
A value packed full-day event, with learning and networking opportunities designed to help OVTA members, tourism operators and business owners succeed. The event will provide those in the tourism industry with the opportunity to develop valuable networking contacts and share innovative ideas with their peers.
Who
The event's keynote speakers will be Louise Lacroix, Executive Director of Direction Ontario, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting Francophone tourism in Ontario, and Bernard Charlebois, Co-Founder and CEO of Virtuo.ca CMS Technologies Inc, a bilingual Ottawa based Canadian owned company specializing in the development and deployment of internet content management systems, membership management systems, web communications and promotional strategies.
Louise's keynote presentation will highlight the exciting Francophone tourism opportunities in the Ottawa Valley, a tourism market with incredible potential for local tourism operators. Bernard will be travelling to the Ottawa Valley to share his expertise in social media. His presentation will contain a special focus how medium and small businesses can make the most out of viral social media tools like Facebook and Twitter.
The conference will also showcase a social media panel made of up OVTA members and partners who have successfully developed strong social media campaigns. Confirmed panel members include: Susan Ellis, Manager of Economic Development, Recreation and Tourism for the City of Pembroke; Leah Piltz, Marketing and Communications Coordinator for Ontario's Highlands Tourism Organization; Ray Bretzloff, Owner/Operator of Pure Life Adventures; Bryan McLaughlin of Dragonfly Golf Links; and Craig Kelley, Community Development Officer for the township of Madawaska Valley. The panel will be hosted by myFM President Jon Pole.

The event will be held at the Twin Rivers Golf Course in beautiful Petawawa, Ontario.
