The Great Race is coming!
Join us on June 26 at
Zurakowski Park in Barry's Bay as we welcome more than
100 racers from across
the United States and Canada
to the Ottawa Valley.

What is The Great Race?
The Great Race is a cross-country rally that pits driver/navigator teams against the clock and against each other. This year’s event will be around the Great Lakes, covering 19 cities, 2 countries, 4 states and 1 province. Entrants participate in a timed, controlled-speed, endurance competition over scenic public highways and roads. The scores for each team are the result of a team’s ability to follow all designated course instructions precisely.
Following specific course instructions, teams navigate through 4 to 7 timed checkpoints each day. Their arrival time at each checkpoint is recorded and compared against the perfectly driven route, with each second off the perfect time, (either early or late) counted as penalty points. The winning team is the one with the lowest overall score (the most accurately driven route) at the end of the event.
Accepted race vehicles include antique vintage cars, trucks and motorcycles with body and drive train built in 1969 or earlier.

Event Schedule
The race officially begins on June 23 in Traverse City, Michigan, USA and ends on July 1 in Dearborn, Michigan, USA.
Competitors will travel around the Great Lakes, covering 2 countries, 4 states, 1 province and 19 cities.
On June 26, racers will depart from Barrie, Ontario and travel north to Barry's Bay for lunch. Expected arrival time is 11:30am.
Following the lunch stop, racers will get back on the road and travel through the Ottawa Valley as they make their way to Ottawa, Ontario.
