Ottawa’s two best paddling shops have merged to bring paddlers a spring flood of bargains, information, celebrities and demonstrations to launch the paddling season.

On Saturday, April 30th, the Trailhead property (at the corner of Scott St. and McRae St.) will be a haven for outdoor enthusiasts. There will be booths manned by experts representing:

  • New products
  • Paddling clubs & paddling schools
  • Guided adventure holiday companies and base camp lodge programs
  • Provincial parks
  • Craftsmanship
  • Outdoor education courses and adventure races
  • New and used equipment sales
  •  And much more...

Highlights of the day will include:

  • Live Music: Le Duo
  • Noon hour BBQ in Trailhead’s parking lot
  • Paddle Shack’s Whitewater Kayak Sale
  • Kayaking celebrities from the Capital Cup will be on-site to provide pro fitting advice.
  • Capital Cup, sponsored by Level IV: a whitewater rodeo for the region’s best paddlers at Bates Island, Champlain Bridge. Paddlers and spectators are invited to visit both events.
  • Expedition www.TransCanEAUda.ca is an Ottawa to Inuvik Canoe Expedition that is leaving May 1st from Westboro Beach. Eight young men and women are attempting to reach Inuvik before freeze up, but more importantly they are trying to raise awareness about the good work Ottawa Riverkeeper and the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Sociate do for conserving watersheds in Canada. Trailhead is sponsoring the canoes for this expedition. Come and meet the participants on April 30th and wish them Bon Voyage.
  • Trailhead’s Annual Spring Rental Sale - over 100 new and used canoes and kayaks will be on display and on sale in our parking lot looking for new paddling partners.
  • Experts to Consult: over 25 booths will feature experts to consult on everything from where to go and what to bring for kayak fishing, standup board paddling, riverbugging, or any other adventurous way that you would like to enjoy the water this season.

    AND IT’S ALL FREE!
