Liz Murphy, the Calabogie Peaks coordinator of the Ride says that “there will be something for everyone at the mountain on the 30th. Take a chairlift ride for $5 all proceeds to Soldier On, play golf at Ironwoods, the resorts nine hole course on the shores of Calabogie Lake, enjoy a meal and live band and come look at some really wonderful bikes and displays.”
Soldier On was founded in 2007 as a joint initiative of the Canadian Paralympic Committee and the Department of National Defense aimed at improving the quality of life of CF personnel who have suffered major injuries. This winter, six disabled Canadian Forces personnel participated in a five day adaptive ski experience at Calabogie Peaks. This was the first event of its kind in Ontario. Also this winter more than 65 others, many of whom were children, participated in the weekly Sunday Calabogie Peaks adaptive ski program. Calabogie Peaks Resort continues to increase its commitment to adaptive skiing as seen in its CADS (Canadian Association for Disabled Skiing) program for children, adults and the military Contact Information: | Calabogie Peaks Resort 20 Barret Chute Rd Calabogie, Ontario K0J1H0 On Google Maps
