Raft & Lobster!

Raft and Lobster

June 24th 2011

Raft and Lobster! Celebrating MKC's 40 years of bringing whitewater recreation to the valley.

For the same price as a Madawaska River Rafting Trip - $40 - come taste your own live-til-you-arrive East Coast Lobster complimented with MKC's cuisine of home-baked bread, fresh salads, and delicious desert.  Very exciting is that the Rafting Trip will start at the Bark Lake Dam (normally starts 1km down stream at the Iron Bridge) with a tour of the facility provided by Ontario Power Generation.  After the Rafting Trip, we will shuttle participants back to MKC for the Lobster Boil.  Here OPG will be presenting a slide show that will showcase the building of the Bark Lake Dam, Bark Lake before the Dam, and many other interesting facts about the River that Flows through us - the Madawaska !

With the Madawaska Kanu Centre having help put Barry's Bay and Community on international tourist maps as a whitewater destination, we wanted to continue to this tradition - all proceeds will flow through the Barry's Bay Lions Club for 'greening the Main Street' of Barry's Bay with the installation of Tree Boxes.  A tourism initiative to have the Hwy 60 corridor travellers stop and enjoy our amazing community.
