Welcome to Petawawa!

Nestled in the beauty of the Ottawa Valley, where the Petawawa River joins the mighty Ottawa River, lies the friendly and DYNAMIC Town of Petawawa. Founded on the strength of its natural resources and strategic military role, Petawawa residents today realize the benefits of working and playing in a region so abundant in natural splendor.

Enjoy Petawawa’s outdoor adventure playground:

By water:

There is a never ending supply of water based adventure in Petawawa, canoe, kayak, SUP and various other water activities; dock service at the Town beach or Jubilee Lodge Marina.  Pristine beaches and a variety of camping facilities are available within the Town and County. Reel in the catch of the day; catfish, trout, perch, bass, walleye, pike and pickerel are some local favorites and can be found in our many lakes, rivers and streams. Algonquin Park has over 1500 lakes and 1200 kms of streams.

By bike:
Petawawa boasts a single track bike skills park and pump track. Set for expansion, this Jay Hoots designed feature is sure to appeal to the adventurer in you. Our Ottawa Valley Mountain Biking Association runs several events and clinics for the novice to the experienced cyclist, and we have some shared roadway and trail systems specially designed just for you.

By foot:
Create your own walking loop; the Town of Petawawa has extensive trail systems, along the Petawawa and Ottawa Rivers, roughly 40km of paths. Visit our Millennium Trail system, Petawawa Terrace or Algonquin Park and hike the Barron Canyon trail, High Falls trail, or the Western Uplands trail.

By Ski/Snowshoe:
Petawawa Terrace Provincial Park, Jubilee Lodge, Petawawa Research Forest and Forest Lea Trails have x-country ski and snowshoe trials. Skiing and snowboarding is available at Mount Molson, operated by the Petawawa ski and snowboard club.

By Sled:
Snow Country Snowmobile Association maintains over 2400km’s of groomed trails in our area. Petawawa is situated along the TOPS A Trail, stretching from Arnprior to Northern Ontario and around Algonquin Park (RAP tour).

By Motorcycle:
We are working to create a series of motorcycle itineraries that include motorcycle ready establishments. In collaboration with our other tourism partners maps should be available in 2013/14.
